The studio is getting busier by the week and we would like to be able to move into a larger space. Will you help us get us there?
Most studio attendees feel that it would be nice to have more space for rope in the studio. Sometimes the jams can get really busy, making it a bit difficult to do rope and manage the floor space. And we agree.
Rather than nodding our heads in agreement and lamenting the fact that we don't have a bigger studio to offer to the London rope community, we wanted to give you the opportunity to help us help you via this donation system.
Do you already have an idea of the space you're planning to move to if funded?
YES! As of March 20th, we have signed the lease on a new space in Queens Road Peckham. It is a 1200 sq ft railway arch with its own bathroom and kitchen. It is street level so it is wheelchair accessible also.
If so, is it in the same general area?
YES! It's a 2 min walk from Queen Road Peckham station which is on the overground. It is one train stop away from London Bridge and two stops away from Canada Water (Jubilee Line). Both Peckham Rye station and New Cross gate stations are in 15mins walking distance (or you can take a bus). Take a look at the map here for transport connections. The studio is also a 5 min walk away from a Tesco, and various coffee shops, restaurants and pubs.
Are you planning to keep both spaces and mix up usage?
No. The space we are currently in is basically a start-up. It started as a 3 month experiment which seems to have worked so we would like to move somewhere bigger and with better facilities (for example central heating and insulation).
What will you use the money for?
The money will be used for: paying the deposit for a new rental, payment of the first rent, cost of moving (transport, packing), purchasing new/extra studio furnishings (like extra floor mats), installation of suspension equipment (including inspection by structural engineer), and internet installation.
The deposit is £5,500 pounds.
Construction of suspension structure will cost approximately £3,000 o £5,000
This will allow us to recover the deposit and suspension structure costs. There are many other costs we will have to absorb, but these two are the main ones at the beginning of our journey and having this money will greatly help us keep our sanity.
When will you move?
The exact date is TBC, but sometime in May 2018.
Thank you in advance for your support! <3
