Help amazing Wife & Mom pay off student loans

I am attempting to raise money for my wife (and indirectly me) to pay off her student loans. She does not know about this and wouldn’t approve of me tackling this debt this way but at this point, I don’t think there is any other choice but to ask for help from the kind hearted public.

Our story & situation:

We met nearly 5 years ago after I went through a divorce. We are now married with a one year old (along with my 6 year old from my previous marriage). We are best friends and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. She is the sweetest woman in the world, a loving wife and a wonderful mother to our young son and to her step-daughter.

During our courtship I always felt there was something that she was hiding until eventually we had the discussion that she was in serious Student Loan debt, over $140k that she accrued obtaining her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Unfortunately, the degrees are in a very specific field that would be difficult to ever recoup the debt by the salaries offered.

This debt weighs on her at all times, it causes stress and constant anxiety as she feels she is not able to contribute to the expenses in our life due to the drain of the student loans on her income.

We both have decent jobs (combined barely more than the total SL debt) but with 2 kids and costs of every day living, we unable to make a dent in the total of this debt. This makes it that much harder to save and causes us to live paycheck to paycheck, which is no way to live.

Reality:

The truth here is that barring something extraordinary, we wont be able to pay off her debt in our lifetimes and it does nothing to us but add stress and anxiety. We want to be able to send our own kids to college without them having to get into this same situation.
