Help Alice complete her Degree in the USA

Kenya. A country with a rich multi-cultural background and tribal influences. A Country situated in Eastern Africa where many move to dream, but I dream to move.

I have lived here my entire life and 29 years later I still aspire to a different life. A more fulfilling and rich life with purpose and vision. Life is hard. Every person has challenges they face throughout their lifetime, some more than others and I have learned this the hard way - growing up in Africa is not easy.

You work hard to make a living, make a success and sometimes, you are a wrong judge of character and end up making mistakes which set you back, a lot more back than where you actually started… And you have to start all over again.

I have always wanted to travel, see the world, explore. I knew that if I worked hard and studied, I would be able to achieve this dream but it would take knowledge and resources.

About 5 months ago, a new company in Uganda offered Investment opportunities, and here I was with my $5000, first in the queue to my new life, new opportunities – all a scam. I lost everything I had worked for and went through a very tough time but there was no getting anything back. But I could not just sit back and accept what had happened, so I changed my course… I knew I had to find a way to fulfill my dreams.

I enrolled at University of the People in America for an online Associate’s Degree in Community and Public Health with my dream being to study Psychology and practice in America. They offer scholarships, so enrolling was easy enough and only having to pay $200 as an assessment fee every 8 weeks seemed like something do-able in my current situation and I was determined to do something.

The last 4 years have been very hard for me, with the one fall back after the other and having to keep getting up doesn’t get any easier. But I could not have done any of this without having to rely on my family and friends for moral support and I now know what it means to have someone to talk to and to support you emotionally.

Which is why I am so passionate about pursuing my career in Psychology, as I want to be a source of hope to many whom are giving up or have no direction.

However, the Institution I am currently studying through does not offer Psychology as a subject, which is why I am raising funds to move to America so that I can transfer my credits to an accredited Institution and study towards a major in Psychology.

To reach this goal, I will need to Raise $15 000 which will help me immensely with expenses such as paying for my school assessment fees, facilitate my traveling to and from school and ultimately help me out with settling in for the first few months until I can find a part time/suitable job to pay for my bills.

I am not asking for much.

I am asking for a small contribution to my great purpose, as I believe that not only will I be able to help others in my situation once graduated, but that I can start a new life for myself through relocating to the US. That I can live my dream.
