Please help Alexandra realise a dream & opportunity of a lifetime!

We, as Alexandra’s parents, need to raise approximately R96 000 by the end of November to ensure that she can perform in two tours with the Tygerberg Childrens Choir; one in Pretoria and the other in Europe, and have her mom Jill, accompany her as chaperone.

Having won countless international choral competitions since its inception in 1972, the Tygerberg Children’s Choir, one of SA’s proudest musical exports, is widely regarded as one of the best even- voiced children’s choirs in the world today. After being crowned Double World Champions at the 6th World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China in 2010, they continue to excel and are one of the 40 top choirs in the world on the Interkultur World Rankings List. The choir celebrates a monumental 46 years in 2018, truly a remarkable milestone.

This select group of highly talented children have, among others, performed for ex-US President Bill Clinton, at the inauguration of President Nelson Mandela in 1994 and for Queen Elizabeth. Alexandra is honoured to be part of this phenomenally talented choir and is excited to be given the opportunity to represent her country at the World Choir Games in Tshwane, South Africa which will take place from 4-14 July 2018.

It is the first time the world’s foremost choir competition will come to Africa and it will be an ideal opportunity for the Tygerberg Childrens Choir to showcase their acclaimed talents in an international arena, on home soil. There will be 22 000 active participants and 470 choirs from 96 countries. It will be the biggest choral spectacle this country has ever seen and a once in a lifetime opportunity for Alexandra.

In December 2018 the Tygerberg Childrens Choir will embark on an Advent Tour of Europe, performing at Advent festivals in Bratislava and Prague, as well as other beautiful cathedrals in Eastern Europe. Your financial support to help Alexandra make the dream of participating in these tours a reality, would be extremely welcome in these very tough economic times. Any donations would be welcome, & for those in business, an invoice can be issued upon request as the choir is an NPO and so contributions may be tax deductable in certain cases.

Please have a look at the video in the link below to witness the euphoria of the choir after winning Double Gold in Shaoxing in 2010.

Thank you for considering our request & we thank you in advance for helping give Alexandra this amazing once in a lifetime opportunity!

God bless you

Michael & Jill Carolissen (Alexandra’s parents)
