Hello friends! Alet and her family need your help.
After being diagnosed with lymphoma cancer for a second time in two years, Alet needs all the help she can get to fight cancer again.
Alet Kriel is a 37 year old wife, daughter, sister and mom of two little girls, Annabelle (7-years old) and Emma (4-years old). Alet's fight against cancer started after Emma's birth in 2016 when she experienced some pain due to surgical complications.
A sonar was done in order to identify the pain Alet experienced shortly after the birth of her second daughter, it showed a small bump near Alet's spleen. Immediate tests confirmed that the bump was non malignant cancer and that there was no need to worry. She was advised that she could have it removed when she had the chance.
Two years later Alet sought to have it removed, not knowing that her situation had changed and that the "non malignant bump" had become stage 4 lymphoma cancer, spreading into her bone marrow. 8 Chemo cycles later, on 25 September 2019, Alet and her family received the good news of a clean Pet Scan.
On 19 March 2020 Alet went for her usual check up, but the news was not good. The cancer had returned.
A painful biopsy (Thoracotomy) on 29 April 2020 confirmed that this time, she was dealing with stage 3 lymphoma cancer. Alet had complications with the surgery resulting in pneumonia, a 4 day stay in Intensive Care and a week's hospitalisation.
Alet has the option of fighting this round with 4 cycles of highly specialised chemo therapies, but before that she has to completely heal from the complicated biopsy.
Unfortunately, this is an extremely expensive journey. We need your help to get Alet these treatments and welcome any assistance to get her back on her feet and with her family.
