Help Ailen Dy in her journey to Healing.

Ailen Dy, is a loving wife and mother to two wonderful boys, a 7-year old and 9-month baby.She spent 10 years working in Dubai but due to the high cost of living overseas, she decided to go back to the Philippines to work and be with her family.

Ailen and I had so much hope for the future, especially with a new addition to our family, Baby Kevin. We were ready for the new challenges of a growing family but we never anticipated that our hearts would be shattered by a devastating news.

Just recently, Ailen was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon cancer. Everything was a blur from that point. She had a surgery to remove the tumors in her colon. The tumors turned out to be malignant. Her uterus was also removed.The doctors discovered that there are more tumors on her sacral wall but they were left untouched for now since the risk is higher if they are surgically removed.

Ailen also underwent a colostomy, a surgical procedure that brings one end of the large intestine out through an opening (stoma) made in the abdominal wall. Stools moving through the intestine drain through the stoma into a bag attached to the abdomen.

Ailen is expected to undergo chemotherapy & radiation for six months.After that she will rest for two months before the doctors can re-attach the ends of the large intestine depending on the response of the tumor.

Our family is struggling to make ends meet.I am a an online freelancer .I work at home on graveyard shift and also take care of household duties. Ailen is unable to work because of her condition.Sadly, my income is not enough to sustain Ailen’s medical treatments especially her therapy (Chemo & radiation) which is cost around Php 30,000 per session and radiation at the same amount. Doctor's recommended 6 sessions for each.

For two days alone, the hospital bills have reached Php 97,000 and it’s just a start.We still have a long way to go.
