Campaign Story
After Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, LGBTQ+ people faced persecution, abuse, sexual assaults, threats and even risk of the death penalty. A Taliban representatives even openly claim that LGBTQ+ people rights wouldn't be respected under their government, and LGBTQ+ people are refused also by the major part of the society. Since the takeover in August 2021, the cases of rape and flogging of gay men were reported and most of LGBTQ+ people are now living in hiding and in fear. For the lack of the food, heating and medicines they are losing hope quickly and some of them also took their own lives from despair. We are crowdfunding for this extremely vulnerable group of people to pay them food, health care and also tickets for moving to the safe country.
