Hello, A friend of mine contacted me about a home that had tons of neglected puppies and dogs in the yard. I had gone to check the situation out and found 11 puppies and 5 adult wheaten terrier mixes. I do not like to pass the problem on to are local Animal control. Everyone seems to do that and they are always over croweded. Rather, if people are willing to let me try and help them, it seems to me a better way to fix the problem. This family was willing to let me help them. They are very low income, have no car or computer and rely on one person in the home to take care of everyone. This still is no reason to neglect their pets but it happened. The dogs had never had dog food, they were given what ever dinner scraps were leftover. So when I brought food, 4 week old pups were trying to eat dry dog food. It was very sad. while I was taking this all in, someone said that one of the adult females had one eye. I asked what had happened and if they took the dog to the vet. Sadly they hadn't . This dog had gotten out of the yard and was attacked by the dogs up the street and came back with a very injured eye. This poor dog has been suffering for over 2 years with the eyeball pushed really far back in the socket. In the summertime fly's land on her eye and stick to it trying to lay eggs in the open socket. This is just horrible. After I was told this I just had to do something for this poor girl. she is very depressed, lethargic and probably in constant pain. I need to raise money to have her eye removed. All of these dogs will be put into loving foster homes and eventually homes. So far all the puppies and the adult male are out of their. I wish I could have gotten all of them out of their that day but I had no where to put them. There arre only 3 females still there and hopefully I can get them out very soon. Please help this poor Wheaten terrier have her eye removed and no longer have to live in pain. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you can help. every dollar counts.
