HELP A VOLUNTEER RAISE FUNDS FOR UNIVERSITY

BACKGROUND

Hey Guys, I'm Leon,22 year old Youth Advocate currently volunteering with the Civil Defense Commission Volunteer Corps and UNFPA Youth Advisory Group Guyana. My passion as a volunteer started just after completeing high school in 2009. I enrolled to be a part of a National United Nations Volunteer programme and served 2 years working as a youth facilitator. I've was fortunate to work in some of the most deprived communities in my country empowering youth and promoting social cohesion.

It has been almost 5 years, and now I continue to volunteer,but more specifically in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health/Rights,Gender Equality and other risk prevention areas. From the facilitation of workshops to simple small group discussions, I enjoy working to influence positive change.

NEED & IMPACT

Now,I'm at the beginning of second year at University, On the road to achieve a bachelor's degree in the area of Pulic Administration, which will afford me the oppurunity to make an even greater impact of the lives of the vulnerable. My dream is to influence the creation of policies thats will benefit those that are most in need, but for now,I wanna continue being a change agent through part time volunteering.

Unfortunately, volunteering does not allow me the oppurtunity to earn sufficent income to cover all of expenses which includes my tuition fees and other costs associated with attending university. I  am therefore hoping to raise funds amounting to the minimum of $2,500 to cover university cost and to allow me the oppurunity to continue volunteering. I plead to you to help me, to continue helping others. You can be source of positive change, be a change agent. Help to give inspiration in action.  Help me as I strive to help many others.
