Campaign Story
Times are tough for us right now, but I would rather not see my kids suffer for it. I would like to take my wife and two kids, four and six, to Myrtle Beach, SC at the beginning of May.
I got out of the Army in 2010 after eight years of service and four deployments. Needless to say, given the economic situation, it was not easy finding a job. I was able to secure a decent job making enough money to keep my family in our home, clothed and fed, with very little to spare for anything else. Along with working full time, I also attend Penn State University as a full time student with the use of the Post 9/11 GI Bill with the sole purpose of creating a better life for my family.
Last year we were able to take our kids to the beach with the help of our income tax return. This year, that is not the case. My kids have been begging to go to the beach since we left. I figured I would swallow my pride and ask for help (I would do anything for them). I am raising a bare minimum amount of money to cover travel and a place to stay, and hopefully a little left over for recreation. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and any help will be greatly appreciated!
Rewards
A handwritten thank you note from my kids!
