As we all know, it is a struggle today to get into college, let alone pay. As a sophomore in high school I am seeing my senior friends go off to college with uncertainty of how they are going to pay for college, equipment for college, and textbooks. I wanted to get a headstart to alleviate some of the troubles and concerns for my future.    I know what you may be thinking, "Why doesn't this kid just get his parents to pay for college or apply for loans?" While those questions are valid, I do have reasons why I cannot. My mother has a lot of health issues over the past few years which caused her to have to leave the workforce. Our financial situation has caused us a great struggle and we have tapped our savings dry. My stepfather cannot leave his job due to the health benefits, which our family needs as my parents both have medical issues which require expensive medications and treatments. If he left his job, we would not be able to get affordable healthcare and keep our doctors that we have today. I would not like to get student loans due to the pressure of not only going to college, but the uncertain future I have with tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt looming over my head as I enter the workforce.   I have thought for months on a way to raise money, as I am still a full-time high school student I cannot get a job. Over the summers I have to help out around the house due to my mother and step-father not being physically able to do all the work. I figured that I could start a fundraiser. I have seen on many social networking sites of how they have helped people in my situation before, asking for much more than I am.    The money that I am asking for today would go towards a fund for a computer, text books, applications, and college tuition payments. Pretty standard stuff that's needed for a college student. Again, I didn't want to have many worries going into college that I have seen classmates and friends go through.   I want to go to a community college for two years and then transfer to a two-year program at a university. I would be going to school for a business major and an English minor, both of those degrees are extremely important in today's society.   Thank you, and I hope that you will donate!
