Help a Student Attend an International Conference

I am Irish Julliana U. Pagulayan, and I am a Filipino Grade 11 STEM student from Senator Renato "Compañero" Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School (SRCCMSTHS), and I hope that you will take time to read my story and my aim.

I am aspiring to become a part of Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) 2019, and I have been successfully selected as one of the AYIMUN 2019 Delegates last March 25, 2019. AYIMUN will be held on August 25-28, 2019, at the Putrajaya International Convention Center, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya, Malaysia. AYIMUN is a conference for young leaders who will be representing a country as a diplomat. It offers learning and enhancement of public speaking skills, diplomatic skills, and debate skills to the youth.

As a student and a Filipino citizen, I have seen and experienced poverty, and I have heard of the various dilemmas that are present in the community such as hunger, corruption, and inequality. I grew up knowing some of these problems at heart, but I aim to use them to become a better and stronger person. I have been an active officer in many organizations in my previous years such as the Student Council (Supreme Student Government), Red Cross Youth, Girls Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC), and school clubs. I would like to apply the knowledge and skills that I have gathered through my experiences during my participation in school-, division-, and regional-based organizations, events, conferences/focus group discussions, and competitions. Through joining AYIMUN, I believe that I will be able to become a more active student and citizen of the Philippines, and a true delegate for peace, order, and transcendence.

I would like to ask for your help to make my goal come true. A little bit of help goes a long way. My goal is to achieve at least 800 dollars for the flight expenses and my participation in this four-day event. I am truly grateful for the time and help that you will extend to me and my goal. I hope that you will consider being a part of my dream by supporting my dream!
