Campaign Story
About a month and a half ago we came back from a 3-month visit in Sri Lanka. We home school our daughter. Still, we decided to send her for 3 weeks to a local kindergarten in Dikwella which is a small town on the south shore of Sri Lanka.
The Kindergarten is managed by two lovely teachers. Dulani and Podi teacher.
Dulani and Podi Teacher were so kind. No matter how much we insisted they refused to take any payment from us. They kept overflowing presents on us and take care of our little girl. We became very close to them and got invited to their houses.
This is a recognised and offical kindergarten that teaches 30 local kids from around Dikwella town.
A few days ago, things went wrong...
Podi Teacher got a heart attack. This of course forces her to stay at home where only Dulani can take care of the kindergarten which has two classes.
In order to fully recover podi teacher need an urgent stent oprtation in her heart. Time is critical here. The family doesn't have the money to pay for the oprtation and the rest of the medical expenses. For now the family have about 3500 USD for the extra medical expenses, but they are missing 3000 USD for the operation. Before that money is rasied they can't even schedule the operation which should be within a month.
What we need is not too many people to donate. It's only 30 people donating 100 USD each, or 60 people donating 50 USD each. But of course, any amount can help.
We travel for extensive amount of time on each trip. Since we finished the trip we asked them several times how we can support the kindergarten. They didn't want ANYTHING. Now it's our chance to help! Please help us raise these funds.
