A solo child needs help for her mother’s LIFETIME hemodialysis

Today, I am reaching out and taking a chance to appeal to your kind hearts to help me for my mom’s hemodialysis treatment.

My mother, Flordeliza G. Canillas, 55 years old and lives in Calamba Laguna, Philippines. On August 3rd 2016 she was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with having a stroke and type II Diabetes. The left side of her body is affected, she can’t properly move her left arms and leg. The doctor said she needs a therapy and it will take a year for her to recover, but because of lack of funds, I was unable to send her to therapy.

In September 2019 she was rushed to the hospital for the second time and was diagnosed with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease Secondary to Diabetic Nepropathy. She needs to undergo hemodialysis twice a week and has to take Erythropoetin Alfa 4000 iu injection for her hemoglobin after every dialysis session, on top of having 17 tablets of medications every single day. One of her most expensive medicine (next to Erythropoetin) is Sevelamer Carbonate 800mg, which cost 88pesos per tablet and needs to drink 3x a day.

I am a sole provider and my father died when I was 2 years old. I wasn’t able to work because I have to look for my mom 24/7 and act as a caregiver because of her special condition. I was only able to make keychains out of air dry clay on my free time and sell it on facebook but that wasn’t enough for as we all know that hemodialysis treatment and other medicine is expensive. And also, due to corona virus situation and mostly due to the poor state government help within the Philippines, I find it exceedingly difficult to acquire meaningful funds from the government to aid our situation.

My whole world revolves around her and she’s the only one I have in my life. I know that God will not give me burden I cannot carry, but at this stage, I am financially struggling and am losing hope.
