Help a single father of 4 to survive & start Recycling Art Studio

• The first stage of the project was to ensure Biboys health. 4 kids depends on him and we needed to make sure he will survive the TBC. For more info see: Gogetfunding.com/boboys-fight-against-tuberculosis(FINISHED)
• Second step is to gain strength for the whole family, psychically but also mentally - we want all kids to attend school and everyone to be able to eat properly - every day. Meaning allowance of PhP 1000 / weekly. (ON GOING)
• Third stage - Continue ensuring the basic need of the family - their house was falling apart, they did not have enough clothes, etc. Build a kitchen, install toilet and shower. Cost: PhP 13,000 (ON GOING)
• Forth stage - Set up business "Recycling Art Studio" for Biboy. Help get clients and orders. Cost for material, sign, buying the first basic material: PhP 20,000 (NOT YET STARTED)

HOW IT ALL STARTED:

Nature Kids of Siargao (www.naturekidsofsiargao.com) was introduced to Biboy and his family via the foundation Siargao Masaya. One of Biboy daughter has a scholarship to go to high school with them and Siargao Masaya was amazed to see the dedication Biboy have for his kids and family. Biboy have been suffering from tuberculosis for several years but still worked hard to provide for his family and to serve the community and his church.

1, Biboys health

We are so happy to announce that Biboy (and all his kids) are officially free from tuberculoses! That means 2 things: 1, He can recover fully and gain strength again. 2, He can now created things in his recycling art studio without being cautious that he will spred the bacteria. 2, Strengthen the whole family (and dealing with unexpected sickness)

Our on going focus right now is to gain strength for the whole family, psychically but also mentally - we want all kids to attend school and everyone to be able to eat properly - every day. The kids should know that their father will survive and be okey.

It is our 3rd month working with Biboy and his family and so far we have been doing really well, Biboy is free from TBC, his kids are attending school, we slowly starting to plan our art studio...

But then suddenly Boy gets a cold, a bad one. He cannot breath. We rush to the hospital and need to leave the youngest kids at home, in panic. We are scared Biboys lung will stop working. He is being admitted to the hospital and gets oxygen and IV. After a few hours he is stabile. The local doctor doesn't believe hi is free from TBC and force him into isolation on a bed with no mattress, only a broken plywood. He stays there for 3 days. Meanwhile we are trying to support the kids as much as we can by being hands on. In the photo below we are attending a school gathering with the kids and their grandma. The kids keep on asking - Where is papa?

"Papa is still talking to the doctor, but he will be home soon". Thank God for founds from our donators so that we could save Boy's life. <3,

3, Basic needs

During one of the small typhoons Biboys house fell apart. The roof flew off and the house leaning like a brick house about to fall apart any minute. The 5 of them was accommodated by their neighbour for 2 weeks and in the meantime we spend the money aimed for the Art Recycling Studio to repair the house. Cost: 20k. One day, we want to build a new house, on a land that Biboy actually owns, not just borrowing. As of now, we need to focus on making a proper kitchen. Smoke from fire wood is very bad for Biboys only lung and a gas stove would help them a lot.

4, Set up a business

Siargao Island have problem with recycling plastics and other non-biodegradable items. Biboy is a very skilled craft man. Therefor we are setting up a "Recycling Art Studio" where we will use the trash of the costumer to make it into art.
