Campaign Story
Assalāmu’alaykum Warahmatullāhi,
I am organising this fundraiser to help out a Muslim family in our community that has accumulated a lot of debt over the past few months such as hospital bills. The father is a very close friend of mine, he is an elderly brother, and he has been suffering from severe Gout for the past few years, and adding on to that, this Covid-19 crisis has affected him tremendously as he has lost his job. He is a father of 2 daughters and a son aged 5, 3 and 1.
Last month he was hospitalised again due to a tumour in his neck area and tests are still ongoing to determine the cause. This has taken a toll on him and his wife as they have 3 little kids to take care of, the brother and his wife are also in their 40s currently so they no longer have the energy.
A few brothers here are currently helping him out with whatever we can however we have exhausted our means and therefore, we would like to reach out to the Muslim communities to help him out with some financial aid.
He did not request for this fundraiser to be done for him but I am doing it on my own accord to help him out. I hope that we will be able to help our brother out with whatever we can.
I pray that we will be able to aid him in this even if it is a small amount as this will ease their burden.
Our Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever grants respite to one in a difficult debt, he will have a reward of charity for each day. Whoever grants him respite after payment is due, he will have the like of it in charity for each day.”
[Sunan Ibn Mājah, 1977]
May Allāh ease our affairs.
