Help A Little Girl With Cerebral Palsy Get Her 1st Bike

We all remember our first bike, the thrill of speed, the wind in our hair, our parents shrieking at us to slow down. For most of us a bike is a rite of passage, however some children don't get to experience this wondrous sense of freedom. A little girl called Lucy who is 4 years old is one of those children, cerebral palsy making riding a standard bike impossible. Adapted bikes are available, but these are horrendously expensive for the average family. My aim is to ensure Lucy doesn't miss out on this part of childhood and to raise enough for her to have an adapted bike.

What Am I Doing?

Those of you who know me will know that my fittest days are behind me. Two replacement Anterior Cruciate Ligaments, two kids and a full time job take their toll. However my goal is to run the Ellesmere Port Sport in the Port 10km race on 21st June 2015 to raise money for Lucy's bike. This will take dedication and training from me but is a fantastic cause that will have a beautiful end result, the smile on a little girl's face.

What will my donation go towards?

Lucy would love a Theraplay Terrier Trike in Candy Pink (what other colour would a little girl want?). The bike plus the alterations needed will cost around £1,400 and whilst this is my target , any funds I can provide her family towards the bike will be very much appreciated. The race is Sunday 21st June in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and is the 10km Sport in the Port race.
