Greetings from Down Under in New Zealand!!
It is a lifelong desire to travel to the United Kingdom and explore the land of my ancestors, and while I am in England, visit the Woodland Trust, (The Woodland Trust protects the ancient forests, and trees of the United Kingdom) and do some volunteer work there.
I would also like to bring some of the Woodland Trust's knowledge back to New Zealand, especially how they use media coverage to get people involved in protecting and enjoying trees, forests, and woodland.
While there, I will travel to England, Scotland, and Ireland. My ancestors originate from the Orkney Islands (north of Scotland), Cornwall, and Bedworth, on both sides of my Grandparents:-). There is much history I would like to research here also. I shall relish each and every moment.
Being way down at the bottom of the ocean in New Zealand, (or at the top:-) ), air travel to countries at the top (or the bottom:-) ) of the world, is extremely expensive, and takes much saving, so you need to plan the trip for when you do go, and make the most of it.
I have already saved $1,200, - it was my intention to go before 30, I am now 33 but am not giving up.:-).
My leaving date is 1 September 2013!!!!!!!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donation.
After my trip, I will be placing photos on a blog, of my wonderful experiences, so if you choose, you can send your email to me, for a link to these photos and information.
You shall always remember how you made a KIWI fly!!:-)
(P.S - Kiwi is a flightless New Zealand bird, the emblem of New Zealand, ....and I am a bird that really needs to fly as well...:-)...)
