World Gymnaestrada - Background information

Gymnaestrada is a festival of non-competitive group gymnastics performances and is the flag ship of the Gymnastics for All programs offered by both the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF). Gymnastics for All (GFA) programs form the basis of all gymnastics disciplines providing physical literacy and music and movement development that enhances a healthy lifestyle.

The World Gymnaestrada attracts between 20 000 and 25 000 participants. Besides the amazing performances that can be seen, people from all corners of the world come together at this incredible event!

The 16^th World Gymnaestrada will be held in Dornbirn, Austria from the 7^th to the 13^th July 2019.

This event is a once in a lifetime opportunity and is unfortunately, a self-funded event.Due to the cost involved, very few participants are able to attend. The minimum estimated cost per person is R 30 000. This covers all flights, airport transfers, transport in Austria, visas, accommodation, meals, Team SA clothing and medical and travel insurance.
