Help a Girl become an Engineer

Hello everyone, my name is Tabitha Kiiru, a Kenyan. I am a Lifts Technician by profession. Two weeks ago i received a letter of admission from Iowa State University to finish my degree in Electrical Engineering. Let me tell you my story and why I am requesting your help.

I am passionate about engineering. I love the challenges it brings everyday. When i finished high school I chose to study at a local college and pursue electrical engineering rather than a business course, which is what my parents wanted. So i enrolled at a college for a diploma in Electrical Engineering (equivalent of an associate degree) with the hope that someday i would be able to finish my studies all the way.I finished and graduated with good grades. I got a job with a lifts company and have been working now for close to 2 years as a lifts technician.

A couple of months ago i decided to go back to school to get the degree. I researched at various universities and i got admission at Iowa State University in the USA for Spring 2017 intake. Apart from it being a good school for engineering course,the reason i choose this school is because the electrical department there is currently doing a research that i am very interested in.

Following this, I sat down with my family and laid out all the funds available on the table. While I can raise money for room and board , basic expenses and some tuition, this money will not be enough to cover the entire cost of attendance. As you may know, education for foreign students tend to be very expensive, which is why am seeking your help in raising $10000 to cover this deficit.I know its a huge amount of money but i am determined.

That is why am setting up this account. I have already started the journey, but I am asking for your help to complete it. I am asking for a chance to enable me realize my dream.Help a girl become an engineer.
