Hi! My name is Mika and I am a multiply disabled and neurodivergent queer trans man.
Physical disability
I am diagnosed with COPD, severe asthma, CTD, encephalopathy, anoxemia, immunodeficiency, numerous gastro- and neurological problems including chronic pain. Being infected with COVID-19 even more affected my lungs and joints, making it difficult for me to walk and use stairs.
As a disabled person, I receive only $67 per month.
Mental health
I have been struggling with mental health my entire life. I have organic depression, C-PTSD, APD, anxiety, and I am currently seeking a diagnosis of DID.
As a child, I underwent emotional abuse, was medically and religiously traumatized, and lived 16 years in isolation that led to social deprivation and agoraphobia. I suffer from flashbacks, nightmares, pseudohallucinations, dissociation, and amnesia.
Being labeled as "a gifted kid" I was exploited throughout my childhood and teenage years which caused me to have suicidal tendencies starting from the age of 14. I managed to pass my final school exams with intensive chemical support and now I find myself not being able to function or desire to stay alive, not to mention, continue my education.
My untreated trauma reduces my life to aimless existence and suffering and I have no means to fight anymore.
Housing situation & debts
I live in the same household as my abuser and have to deal with emotional abuse on a daily basis.
My entire family is disabled and neurodivergent as well, even my emotional support animals have chronic conditions to treat. We are in a massive debt of $6.700 which is growing with every month.
Scared for my life
I am a trans asexual queer man who lives in a highly transphobic and queerphobic country where the basic human rights of LGBTQA+ people are denied both by the government and society (the law against the "propaganda of homosexuality", LGBTQA+ hate crimes, etc.). I have no opportunities to escape this danger and have to hide my sexuality and gender from other people.
Where would donations go?
- medical bills, meds & accommodations (e.g. cane)
- therapy for C-PTSD and psychiatrist appointments for further diagnosis
- fighting for the right to access gender-confirming treatment & transitioning
- providing medical treatment for emotional support animals
- paying debts
