Help a designer/programmer buy a new computer

Hello. My name is Shahrukh. I am student at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, where I am studying audit and assurance. However, my passion lies in programming and graphic design. Since neither are directly related to my current education and my parents don't approve of my enthusiasm in either, I need help with purchasing some of the basic equiment for graphic design and programming. Currently, I own a Core i5 computer with just enough video memory to let me do basic 2D and 3D artwork and code less-intensive games. Anything more advanced eith er requires 2-3 days for rendering or laggy runtime execution. Therefore, I need money to buy a new computer with enough power so that I can follow my dreams. My wife shows support with my ambitions; however, she is concerend that I won't be able to earn enough money via graphics design and programming. Due to this, she is unwilling to use our earnings for an expensive computer. I have earned some money via freelancing but my slow computer does not allow for more advanced work, causing the inability to really earn something.
