We are just another family in Manila trying to live our lives during this global pandemic.

A few weeks ago, our dad started having flu-like symptoms. At first we dismissed it; surely it cannot be Covid, right?

Then our worst fears came true: his fever was persistent. He started coughing louder. He gasped for air as he talked. Eventually we had to rush him to the emergency room, where he was then diagnosed with Covid-19.

The doctors found out that he was suffering from a severe case of pneumonia and ARDS (Acute respiratory distress syndrome). Doctors also found he had sepsis which temporarily damaged his kidneys. He is in the ICU now intubated and currently in dialysis. We do not know until when.

Little did we know our dad's hospitalization was just the beginning: one by one, our family members tested positive for Covid-19. A week after our dad's admission to the hospital, our mom and a trusted family member had to be rushed to the hospital days apart from each other.

Left without enough breadwinners and with two grandparents to take care of, it would be impossible for us to pay for everyone's medical bills and pay for our own living expenses at home as well. As much as possible, we try to avoid to be in a position of need. However, we also admit that we can no longer cope up with the mounting hospital bills given our current financial resources.

Hence, we are asking for your generosity to help our struggling family overcome this crisis. Any amount of support will be much appreciated. Any excess will be donated to other Covid-19 patients in need

Thank you very much and may God bless us all.
