Mwihoko (meaning peace) community in Kiambu county, Kenya needs your support. My name is Rita and I am part of this community and i'm very passionate about children and i have been working with them for a few years now. I am launching an online fundraiser today
Over the last few months I have noted with concern how children are idling around especially now when there is no school. Young Eunice a 5 year old is one such kid being raised by a single unemployed mum. Her mum has to engage in manual labor jobs such as digging so that they can eat that day, She is paid less than 3 dollars for the day and when she doesn't get any money they have to sleep hungry. Doing this corona pandemic jobs for her are not easy to come by and more often than not she comes home empty handed. When her mum is not around Kate is forced to go to the market place or around the neighborhood to look for food to eat which leaves her vulnerable to abusers.
If she doesn't get a well wisher she has to stay hungry the whole day and sometimes at night too
Eunice is just one kid and there are many of them in this village.
I would like your support in starting a day program where kids can come read books, play with toys have at least a meal and water and then go back home to their parents in the evening. This will ensure that they don't go hungry the whole day and by being occupied, they won't be left vulnerable and exposed. I cannot be able to do this alone and hence i'm appealing for any amount of donation to help with this cause. My target budget is $2000 by end of September, this will enable me buy furniture for the room, play toys, books, food and water for atleast 50 children.
Your support will be highly appreciated and every donation will make a difference.
