Two weeks ago, on our break from taking care of rescued dogs on an island in Thailand, we were stopped by 3 tiny black puppies running in the street towards our bikes. The puppies were no older than 6 weeks, crawling with fleas and ticks, bloated with worms, and panting perfusely of dehydration. Due to their health condition and lack of a mother, it was clear that if we did not take them and care for them they would die.
The puppies are now incredibly healthy, happy, and full of love and affection. We are providing all of their food, water, and necessary vaccinations at the moment but are unaware of their future. Because the number of street dogs here is incredibly high, all of the shelters and sanctuaries on the island are at full capacity. After looking at all of the possible options, we decided that relocating them out of the country would be their best chance at life, or else they would have to go back on the streets.
An Oregon-based sanctuary specializing in international rescues has offered to take them in and help in adoption efforts once they are in the United States, so the only step left is to get them there! We are using this platform to raise money in order to pay for their microchips and flight transportation into the US.
We may not be able to save them all, but at the very least we can save these three. Please help reduce dog abandonment and donate to this cause. Any amount helps, as even if we do not reach our goal, the money will be used for food, water, and veterinary care for the puppies and dogs living on the streets.
Donate and share this campaign with as many people as possible! You will truly make a difference and save lives.
Thank you so much.
