Help the six brave Peruvian children from the high Andes fulfill their dreams of coming to Poland and taking part in the international Brave Kids 2019 project!
Ceci Paola (8), Omar Francisco (13) and Clara Margarita (13), Flor Jhoselyn (14), Madeleine Brishy (15) and Carlitos Francisco (16) are students of the democratic school “Escuela Democratica in Huamachuco” - an Andean town in the north Peru, located at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level where the living conditions are not easy. The harsh climate is not favorable for agriculture, there is no industry here. However, there are wonderful andpassionate people full of joy of life like Valerio Narvaes Polo who founded in 2008 the first democratic school in Peru, giving local children a chance to get good education and a better start into adult life. In addition to standard education, children also learn about life, respect for the environment, culture and traditions, and respect for human rights. It is a place where they can develop their personality, strengthen their sense of self-confidence and belief that they can change the world for the better.
A very similar idea is at the heart of the Brave Kids project, which has been organized since 2009 in Wrocław and other Polish and European cities. Brave Kids is an educational and artistic project during which artistic groups of kids from all over the world meet. They may differ in life experiences, artistic talents, religions and traditions, but they are all joined by the openness to other people, their willingness to create together, and an incredible ability to overcome barriers and limitations of the adult world. Another significant aspect of Brave Kids is the involvement of the local community - children participating in the project live in the homes of local families. Both for children and for host families, it is a unique closeness of a world that is often quite different, as well as a lesson of generosity, patience and often life-long friendships. The Grand Finale of Brave Kids is a performance the kids create together, being a colorful collage of various cultures and traditions. The kids prove that in a few weeks, sharing their experiences and skills, they can prepare a show that is a symbol of peace, friendship and children's voice.
These six brave Peruvian children dream of coming to Wroclaw and taking part in the project. Their joy after receiving the message about participating in the project was enormous, the emotions that appeared on the faces of these young people cannot be described in words .. It will undoubtedly be one of the greatest adventures of their lives, which they have never dreamed of before .. Many of them have never left their hometown. Such an event can change their whole life! There remains only one obstacle... the high cost of travel and issuing the necessary documents. And here we come to ask for support...
The indicated amount will cover the travel costs of Huamachuco-Lima-Huamachuco, Peru-Poland-Peru air tickets for six children and a group leader, local transport in Poland (Warsaw-Wrocław-Warsaw), insurance, costs related to the passport making process.
Let's help these brave Andean children - Peruvian Brave Kids - collect the funds necessary for them to come to Poland. All you have to do is to add a few zlotys/euros/dollars (that might be the cost of a chocolate bar, beer, or any other guilty pleasure) which really is not so much! But it will mean a lot: it will make their dreams come true, bring these kids such joy that no words can describe. It is these Brave Kids who after returning from the project will become the activists for change and improvement in their community!
And you will be a part of that, too!
