“Hell Or High Water”
a Documentary Film
The purpose of the film is to gain perspective and knowledge about natural disasters in the hopes that it will provide others with the knowhow to prepare, protect, and recover from future events. We are featuring residents from Nassau County, New York, Moore, Oklahoma, Joplin, Missouri, and New Orleans, Louisiana. We are learning from those who have been displaced and had their lives turned upside down in the past, in order to aide the recovery process for those recently devastated.
In the end we hope that this will help others who may be in the path of a future natural event prepare themselves for what comes before, during, and after the storm arrives. With the news vans gone, what do they do now? We feel that everyone needs to know that it's not a matter of if, but a matter of when. We must help educate those who may not know what to do when it happens.
We will be visiting Moore, Joplin, New York / New Jersey, and New Orleans and speaking with individuals, families, and businesses. If you know anyone in these locations please contact [email protected]
Thank you so much for your help!

As residents of Oceanside, NY our namesake community was inundated by the flood waters of Superstorm Sandy on Oct. 29th, 2012. It has taken us nearly 10 months to rebuild and to sort out not just our possessions, but our lives as well. Having the professional guidance of architect/journalist Monte Leeper, and the support of friends and relatives, neighbors and strangers helped us get through the most trying of times. We are supporting the efforts of Mr. Leeper to help educate and tell the story of preparation and survival from natural disasters.

Watching the video explaining the work you are doing to make this film brought me to tears. I wish I had more to give to help tell these very important stories. I grew up in Oceanside, NY and though I now live in Los Angeles, CA, my heart will forever be in New York. These are the tales of survival and compelling narratives to unite humanity. Thank you for taking the time to give these victims a voice. Much luck and many blessings on this journey. My good thoughts are with you!
