At the end of June I will be travelling to Estelí, Nicaragua, for 5 weeks to volunteer at Farem University. I will be teaching English to university students and leading cultural workshops for both Sheffield and Farem students to get an insight into one another's culture and continue the link between the two cities, which has been running since 1987.
Though this trip is organised by Sheffield University, it is not subsidised by them. I need to raise money for flights, rent to live with a host family for 5 weeks, travel insurance, jabs and all the other necessary requirements for this trip before I go - this will cost around £1000!
To raise this money, I aim to be sponsored to volunteer for 3 weeks at a charity in England before the trip. This will allow me to give time to a worthwhile cause, and gain an insight into volunteering, while raising the vital money needed to take part in this exciting trip to Estelí.
Any money donated will be a huge help and will be massively appreciated.
