It is our mission to provide unique developmental training in Drum Majorettes & Cheerleading that will enrich and develop young people to reach their full potential – whether emotional, social, physical, or cognitive – through participation within the sport, to promote group development and a competitive spirit, to recognising the principles of winning and losing and to help build confidence in themselves. This programme also provides these young athletes with all the physical, mental and character-building tools necessary to achieve a life of wellness, health and sporting excellence. To promote a sport that provides opportunity for individuals that are dedicated and would like to participate in a sport but do not necessarily fit the hockey, netball or rugby profile.

Our drummie team started mid-2017, where we are currently a team of about 20 members between the ages of 6 and 13.

The team competed in one category on regional and provincial levels during the 2018 season showing exceptional talent and promise. As newcomers we achieved 4th and 5th places during regionals, and during provincials we placed 8th overall out of +-20 teams. We are competing in 6 categories during the 2019 season (Non-Prop, Small Drill, Large Drill, Mace Group, Flag Group and Baton), to qualify for the Nationals to be held in East London at the end of June 2019.

Helderkruin Drum Majorettes are a registered Non-Profit Company (Reg: 2019/064039/08)

As this is quite an expensive sport, with limited suppliers, we need financial assistance in the form of a donation, or sponsorship. If you are comfortable being a sponsor for the 2019 National Competition, your logos could be added to the tracksuits, shirts, kit bags or gear vans. Unfortunately, GMCA rules state that sponsors’ names are not permitted on competition uniforms.

The following makes up our Nationals Budget:

  • Accommodation for Team Members and Coaching Team at a cost of R75 900.00
  • SAMCA Affiliation fees and team Memorabilia estimated at R8 000.00
  • Full tracksuits, t-shirts and kit bags Team Members and Coaching Team at a cost of R31 000.00
  • Transportation to and from East London as well as transportation for the duration of the Competition. R12 000
