Hefty Medical Bill

I have been suffering from Ankylosing Spondilitis (bamboo spine) when I was 18 years old. Since then I had numerous other medical conditions, Gastric Reflux, High Blood, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Bell's Palsy and recently just went for angioplasty and stenting due to unstable angina. The hospital bill came up to about $20k, after deducting Medicare and medishield, the final hospital bill to be paid in cash is $5029.45.

I am currently 44 years old. Although I am still working but due to my medical conditions, I have to stay away from work and is on the brink of being terminated from work. Although my wife is working, all the financial burden is on her. We have a young son who is currently 10 years old and taking care with 2 aged parents (both in 70 years old).

Due to me having a series on medical conditions, I am unable to purchase health insurance and have to see specialist every 2 months so that my conditions do not worsen. And because of that I always feel that I am financial burden to my wife. I had thoughts of committing suicide so that I will not burden my wife, the reason why I have been holding back is because of my 10 year old son is, I had to tell myself to at least be a support (mental, physical) to him till he is old enough to take care of my wife.
