On August 5, 2014, I have personally encountered and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior; since then, His faithfulness and goodness in my life has only become more evident. From that moment until now, I have dedicated my life to do the work of His ministry and as a result, I have seen myself grow so much spiritually and leadership wise.
It is my desire to continue to abound in God’s good work and respond to the calling He has given me to minister to the younger generation—the out-of-school youth, the less privileged, and the victims of human trafficking and abuse. I consider it my life’s mission to lead these youngsters to know and experience Christ, to grow spiritually, and to discover God’s wonderful plan for their lives. To be able to do this great task, I need to be sufficiently equipped. Starting this November, I shall be pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies (Major in Youth Studies). I am eager to share my future learnings through teaching and providing guidance to the people I minister with at church (Cornerstone Community Manila), my family, the different people within my sphere of influence, as well as the future ministry partners I look forward to work with.
This new season shall be like a winepress which I believe God will use to produce a more mature, more Kingdom-minded, more Spiritually-saturated, Jesus-glorifying Christian in me. This decision is a leap of faith for me as I will have to leave my current profession to pursue this degree fulltime. With this, I would like to ask you to be a part of this mission-work by praying for me. Please pray that I will be open to new learnings both within and outside school. Please pray also that God will grant me the wisdom and endurance I need to finish my schooling, as well as to always be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
I would also like to ask you to consider supporting me financially. My faith goal is to raise PhP 15,000 per month to help defray the cost of my living expenses, and to raise at least PhP 200,000 to cover the expenses of my entire schooling for two years. Any amount you decide to give in your heart is already a great blessing.
I would like to thank you in advance for considering supporting me through prayers and/or giving. This undertaking would not be possible without the guidance and provision of the Lord and the generosity of so many. I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you along the way.
By faith I take hold of God’s Word in 1 Thessalonians 5:24 which says, “God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful.”
May our Lord bless you more.
Your brother in Christ,
George Philip Hasegawa
