Heating system for BILANI residential program

We are a non-profit-organization providing rehabilitation and social transition support for young people with socio-psychological problems and addictions. Please help us to purchase and install a heating installation in our residential facility in Bulgaria!

The goal of the campaign is to rise EUR 12,500 for the immediate needs of the organization for purchasing and installation of combined solar & palettes heating system and infrastructure for our residential facility, located near Bankya, Sofia.

BILANI is licensed Bulgarian NPO, led by a team of specialized psychologists, psychiatrist, and social workers, dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation and social transition support for young people with socio-psychological problems and addictions to drugs, gambling, alcohol and internet—all problem that are becoming more and more prominent among the young population in our country. The program consists of three phases: 9 months isolated residential treatment in a structured and protected environment, followed by 5 months of a day-center controlled residence re-socialization program, and follow-up support for finding work and reintegration into the society. The program is only partially funded by government funds, accounting to less than 25% of the expenses; the rest is provided by donations and the community.

BILANI’s protected residential house, hosting over 25 program residents, is located in an isolated location within the mountain near Bankya. During the winter, the place is difficult to be reached by car and currently is using mostly coal, wood, and electricity for heating. The existing installation is old, quite insufficient, and gradually disintegrating; it is problematic and expensive to maintain and operate. During the cold fall and winter months the organization is unable to heat the place and to pay their bills… The raised funds will be used to purchase and install a cost-effective, ecological, and sustainable heating installation for the entire facility.
