Hearts Out for Gwen

This is Gwen Felisilda, 24, from Talisay City Cebu. Only child of her dad (her mom recently passed away January 2019 because of breast cancer). She writes for a living. She also helps organize hobbyists conventions and esports tournaments to help these scenes grow. One of the many notable events she's participated in is The Mayor's Cup 2018. Gwen's also a huge music buff.

In 2012, she was diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease. She got tonsillitis very often. The bacteria from her tonsils went down to her heart and has infected two of her heart valves. She's been taking maintenance medications ever since her diagnosis to keep the bacteria at bay. But over time, her valves got infected.

Currently, she has one functioning valve left. This makes her heart struggle harder, which results to life-threatening side effects too. Recently, she's been hospitalised for having blood clot in her head and water in her lungs (please see medical certificates attached for proof).

Her cardiologists insist that she get an operation ASAP because the more the operation is delayed, her remaining valve goes weaker. Estimated cost of her operation (including doctor's fee, hospital facilities, pre and post laboratories) are 1,000,000 PHP. It's a huge amount, and with her as the breadwinner for herself and her dad, shouldering the cost won't be possible.
