Urgent Heart Surgery

Greetings Everyone!

Am Giov Scattar, just got an angiogram and the results were far worse than what me and my family were expecting. The left ventricle of my heart, which is the thickest of the heart's chambers and is responsible for pumping oxygenated blood to tissues all over the body, is 75% blocked.

Because I have diabetes and would need more than 4 stents, the surgeon said Angioplasty would be dangerous for me. Not to mention the fact that each stent would cost about Rands 17,300.00 or around $4,800.00 per stent.

My family was informed that my surgery would cost Rands 257,394.00 or around $17,300.00. I need to have my surgery urgently, if left untreated, there is a huge possibility of me getting a heart attack, and it could be fatal.

My family is able to share half the total cost and costs of hospitalization after my surgery, but having difficulty in coming up with the deposit for me to undergo the surgery as soon as possible. Deposit is around Rands 86,294.10 or around $5,800.00.

I have been suffering for a long time but none of us understood how sick I really was until after my heart had a bad reaction to the stress test I went through the previous week. I also didn't want to burden anyone which is why I always blew off my chest pain as "gas". And even though I was suffering from pain, I still continued on with my work as security personnel 12 hours day and night shifts, winter or summer for a period of 23 years. Continuously playing the role of a provider.

I’m 51 yrs of age and by God's will could hope to live on for another 15-20++ years if am able to get my surgery as soon as possible. For those, who are closest to me, each day spent with me is precious.

With all of this on the table, I want to reach out to everyone, but I also do not want to burden anyone by asking for a huge sum of money. Instead, I am appealing to your gentle hearts for a small donation. It is said that great things are accomplished by a series of small things brought together. If a great number of friends, family, and strangers can contribute a small amount to this cause, I can quickly raise the rest of the money needed for my surgery.
