My name is Abner Callaghan born in Jamaica I am 49 years young. I was a very active person participate in all sort of sporting activities in my community.
On August 20, 2020 I was driving my car when suddenly I felt a pain in chest. I never took this seriously so I continue driving. whilst driving the pain became worst as a result I visit the doctor. I drove my car to the hospital and was checked in at the emergency area. I was immediately admitted to the hospital after it was diagnosed that I was having an heart attack. I spent 5 days in the hospital and was discharged after receiving medication and felt better.
I taught that was the end of the situation that I felt, so I continue my normal day to day business as I am truck driver. I felt fine hoping that this will never happens to me again. Five weeks had past and I was feeling great within myself do my regular exercise played football because it's my passion.
On Sunday October 4, 2020 after playing my regular morning soccer and returned home, I felt the same pain across my chest again which was more severe than the first time I felt it. My wife rushed me to a private doctor close by and I was immediately sent to the hospital. I was admitted again and was diagnosed with the same heart attach problem which was more severe than before. I could have lost my life this time.
After in the hospital for three days, I was seen by a consultant Cardiologist who stated that it is possible that my artery may be blocked and an Angiogram has to carried to determined where in my heart is blocked. An angiogram is a diagnostic test that uses x-ray to take picture of the blood vessels. A long flexible catheter is inserted through the blood stream to deliver dye into the artery making them vissible on the x-ray. After which a angioplasty has to be done to clear the blockages or place stent to open the artery that the blood can flow freely again.
Both procedure will cost approximately 10,000 dollars and has to be done urgently to prevent a third heart attack which could be deadly. I am 49 years old and I have my family to take care of as I am the main bread earner. I cannot at this time afford such procedures and my insurance does not cover them. I am appealling to friends and family in the the wider community to donate to my cause which is very critical. I am writing this appeal from my hospital bed and nothing is to small to donates.
Thanks in advance for your support and I appreciate the effort
