I'm raising money to help fund my young sister, Tumwesige Daphine to get heart surgery.
Daphine (21) has battled with a heart disease
throughout her life; we’ve been able to take care of her complication with some
medications from the school clinic, which has supported her through their
insurance policy. A month ago, we were referred to a better facility for more
treatment and inspection. After several tests, it was advised that she gets the
surgery as soon as possible.
At the doctor's orders, the surgery has been set for July this year (26th), and has been given tablets (to be taken for three months) to prepare her for the process.
The defect on her heart, which has been growing bigger and bigger since childhood, is the cause of the ever increasing counts of heart attacks she has battled with in the past months. This is the reason we have been notified that if left untreated, her heart won't be able to support her growing body and eventually stop functioning.
Despite being a national facility (Uganda
Heart Institute), we are required to pay an amount of Uganda Shillings Eighteen
Million and Six Hundred thousand ($ 5167).
Daphine has always been supported by her Orphanage she joined when she was eight, through this, they have managed to pay for her school fees, currently doing her second year for the Bachelors degree in Law. Unfortunately, they cannot facilitate her through this surgery. We are in a desperate situation to help our sister before it is too late.
I know that this is a lot to ask from a total
stranger but, my kind request is that you please join us in any capacity - even
a simple prayer will be highly appreciated. Please do email me if you would
like to know more about her condition, hobbies, education, community work and
church life, or even medical documents related to her surgery
If successful, these funds will help towards paying for her heart surgery; any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am afraid of losing my sister, especially when she is about to finish her degree that she is so much excited about because she believes that in her ways, she will be able to help the people in our community, including the orphanage, by dealing with those least attended to cases affecting us. I therefore want to ask for your help in this difficult time. Thank you so much.
