Healthy women, healthy society

According to International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), about 570,000 women were diagnosed of cervical cancer and more than 310,000 died in 2018, equivalent to one woman dying every hundred seconds. Almost 90% of new cervical cancer cases and 92% of related deaths occur in the low and middle income countries (LMICs). And, in some regions of the globe, like the Sub-Sahara Africa, the situation is already nearing epidemic proportions.

We are a Foundation for Women’s Health Promotion and Welfare Initiatives (FWHPWI). Our organization is non-governmental and not for profit, formed to help in the fight against gynaecological/breast cancers and osteoporosis in Sub-Sahara Africa. We are engaged in programmed early detection awareness campaign, healthy lifestyle education and use of indigenous resources to identify novel therapeutics for gynecological cancers, osteoporosis, and affordable anticancer pharmaceutical products. Our current research projects include, retrospective research on gynecological cancer prevalence in Sub-Sahara Africa, and research on medicinal plants used in traditional management of cancer in Sub-Sahara Africa.
