Greed, inequity, hoarding, and others were the characteristics of life we were living before the corona pandemic. This pandemic has given us the chance to recreate our existence that will be full of joy, respect for one another, peace and love. Nagasaki is one of the tourist destinations in Japan for both local and international communities. However, Nagasaki is the 8th ranked prefecture in Japan with the highest number of single mothers, widows, and divorcees (Izumi, 2017). In addition, these women lag behind in terms of annual revenue. Despite this, women in Nagasaki have been doing their best to improve their standard of living and also help others through business related activities in tourism. They work with Nagasaki Wellness, an organization that seeks to promote health and wellness, and also empower women through training and other business related activities. These women engage in businesses related to traditional healing and relief therapy, cafes, restaurants, hotels and beauty salons. Most of their services are patronized by tourists. Unfortunately, the world now is battling with a pandemic and in an attempt to win this war, government policies have limited the number of visitors to Japan. In August 2020, only 8,700 tourists visited Japan, 99.7% less than the same time last year, this according to data from Japan Tourism Statistics (JNTO). The drastic dropped in the number of visitors as a result of the pandemic has affected businesses including those owned by women, which depend solely on tourists in order to operate, and the possibility that these businesses will not resume or continue to operate after the pandemic is over is high if there is no relief package to help these vulnerable businesses stay active in this trial time. In order to help these women, Nagasaki Wellness is seeking your kind hearted and generous support on behalf of these women-owned businesses in order to raise the sum of 10,000 USD in the next 45 days.
