Healing for Gemma (Liver Failure)

Good day!

My name is Eirene, 19yo, a freshman college student in the Philippines and together with my younger brother and father, would like to seek your financial help.

Our mother, Gemma Rubia Atienza, 56, born and raised in Mariveles, Bataan, Philippines, has recently suffered liver failure resulting from Tuberculosis treatments. She was was diagnosed with Tuberculosis on November 8, 2022 and has been taking medications since. This resulted, however, in her liver being damaged and failing to function . This has rendered her immobile and affected her mental state as the toxins that the liver is supposed to flush out, have gone to the brain. She has been in hospital care since December 28, 2022 and as per doctor’s advice, there are series of tests that need to be administered to monitor her liver function on a regular basis. This would require her to stay in the hospital for an extended period which is way more than what we are able to afford.

Our average daily bill so far amounts to 100,000 Php per day excluding doctors fees. We are currently on our 1st week in the hospital and are feeling distressed with the mounting hospital bills. We own a small eatery (carinderia) in Mariveles, Bataan, which has been our family’s primary source of income but we are well aware that the funds from it would definitely not suffice.

We are hoping to knock on your generous hearts in the hopes of raising enough money to help us fund our mother’s healing and recovery. We would be immensely grateful for any amount that you can spare, no matter how little and we would really appreciate your prayers during these trying times.
