Hello! Im Ice Abunda and I'm from the Philippines. I've set up this gogetfunding account for my younger sister, Andrea.

Ma. Andrea Abunda or drei to her friends is my 26 years old younger sister, who is bravely fighting to survive against cancer. She was first diagnosed with endometrial cancer when she was just 20 years old back in 2010 Her doctors were able to remove a tumor that as big as a 6 months old fetus and then her first chemotherapy took place that almost killed her. We were told she has Steven Johnson syndrome, a rare allergic reaction that was triggered when they used a common drug for cancer patients. We then, transferred her to PGH ( a local governement hospital) but it still took us a while to start chemotherapy since her doctors still need to look for the best medicine for her and we also need to look for funds to support her medications thru solicitations to government officials and non-government groups, fundraising event ( her highschool/college friends collaborated and did a mini concert). After 8 sessions of chemotheraphy that made her go bald and lose weight, her doctors gave us great news that her cancer cells are back to a normal percentage and that she can stop the chemotheraphy. We were all delighted and thankful but last October of 2016 my sister was asked to have a physical check up and do a CT scan by her company doctor ( yes, she was given a fit to work and able to work for over 2 years). And the news wasn't so great, they saw some lumps on her right lung. They made her do several tests and yes, the Big C is back.

Unknowingly, it already spread out, the lump above her lungs which is around 12 cm, at her back and now even in her liver. She is in so much pain and her pain reliever doesnt do much help that she could only sleep a few hours a day. Fruits and vegetables are already a staple in her diet along with the prayers day and night.

I am the only one working in our household and the salary that I get is only enough to cover my family's daily needs. We have started to seek help again from government officials, non-government organizations and even sell baked goodies to support my sister's medication and needs. But all these are still not enough since her medication are too costly. Avastin (bevacizumab) is one out of the three medicines that she needed that costs around P27,000 per 100mg and she needed 690mg per chemotheraphy session and she was advised to do 6 sessions. The funding goal is set to 2 Million pesos to support all her medications and so that she can be properly cared for and ensure her win over this dangerous C.

We are in need of financial assistance to support her medication. Any amount will be greatly appreciated to the extremes of our gratitude.
