Miss Aneta asked our Foundation for help when it turned out that her youngest child, Arturek, would require a serious surgery and long-lasting rehabilitation due to the fusion of the cranial suture. Arturek has a disability certificate. Fortunately enough, there is a remarkable chance for the boy to live a happy life in his healthy, fully able body, but it requires funds that the family of Miss Aneta cannot gather by itself. Miss Aneta is also taking care of her 11-year-old son, Gabriel. The boy was born as a child with multiple defects. He requires a constant care and has been issued with a certificate of disability. He has difficulties breathing, suffers from a severe sight impairment, and has remarkable difficulties speaking properly. According to professional physicians, the development of the boy can be compared to the one of a 6-year-old child. Similarly to every other mother, Miss Aneta does her best to ensure satisfactory health and future life of her children, even though she herself has been chronically ill since her early childhood. She does not give up, but the costs related to the treatment of Arthur notably exceed the financial capabilities of Miss Aneta and her partner, Mister Piotr. That is why the entire family has been accepted as protégés of our Foundation.

Bringing up two disabled children while not being fully able oneself requires a lot of determination. Aneta has claimed that as of currently, funds for examinations that are vital for Artur, being just few months old, are of utmost importance to her. The boy was born on 5th January 2020. It turns out that he requires professional treatment due to craniosynostosis (which is a medical term pertaining to cranial suture coadunation) – it is an innate health concern that, while untreated, may make it impossible for the head of the baby to develop properly, which may in turn result in its deformation and complications. Surgery is unavoidable, but Aneta and her family are unable to gather enough funds to pay for a series of expensive examinations that has to be done prior to the procedure in question. In the case of the unit Arthur’s surgery is to be performed (“Kangur” NPHSI CNS Disorder Treatment and Child Support Center in Katowice), the key examinations before and after surgery are performed for a fee. A cardiologist, an optician, a neurologist, a neurosurgeon…it is just a part of the long list of professionals that Artur has to visit to fully recover. Time passes and the discussed examinations are just a beginning of Arthur’s bumpy road to recovery. After the surgery, the boy will require a rather long rehabilitation. Both health condition and future of the child are strongly dependent on money the family does not have and will not gather without outside support. Aside from examinations and rehabilitation, one must also take into account costs connected with commutation to and stay in different cities for the period of examinations and medical analyses. They are located far away from the place of residence of Arturek and his family. Just until recently, trips were mainly made to Katowice and neighboring towns. However, the surgery itself will probably going to be in Olsztyn rather than in Katowice as it was initially planned. Such a decision was made by a doctor supervising Arturek. The same doctor will be responsible for the surgery in Olsztyn.
