He survived, help him to get up on your feet!

       Hello, my name is Nadezhda Ziplenkina. I am writing to ask you for your help. I don’t know who to ask for help anymore and, honestly, I am very ashamed of doing so, but my circumstances are forcing me.
      I have a wonderful son Zhenia, who, due to doctors’ incompetence,was left unable to move independently after he had a stroke in 2008. Since that time Zhenia is not able to walk. In order to help him move from bed to wheelchair and back I need to lift him.Zhenia is 1.9 meters tall, and, when he needs bath, it takes me a great effort tohelp him. To do this everydayis something that not even the toughest man can endure. Thank God in the last six months, a man from our church has been coming over to help me.
       Our story is a true story.  It was featured in one of the top Russian talk shows “Pustgovoryat” (“Let them talk”) with Andrei Malahov on November 29^th in 2012. Zhenia and I took part in the second part of the show. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI7IyNrLA7I)
       During physical therapy in a rehabilitation center in Pyatigorsk, Zhenia was seriously injured that resulted in a femoral neck fracture of both hip joints. We contacted many medical centers in a hope to get Zhenia treated, but all we got was a refusal. After numerous attempts, we finally found a hospitalcalled “KrankenhausNordwest” in Germany that has all necessary equipment and resources to help us get Zheniaon his feet.Prof. Dr. Christoph. Rangger is ready to perform a hip replacementsurgery that will result in Zhenya walking again. The plan is to include us in his schedule in June 2013. Medical expenses are estimated at50,000 euro, which will include all necessary tests prior to the surgery, the surgery itself and medications.
            The problem is I don’t have enough money for this surgery and won’t be able to get it without your help. My husband had a stroke and passed away in 2001. I cannot afford to lose Zhenia. Despite his originally poorprognoses, Zhenia’s speech and memory are restored, he is able to write and read, which is considered a miracle by many doctors. He isfull of energy, and is looking forward to take part in his daughter’s upbringing, to reach his yet to realize goals and to see his dreams come true.
         The only income we got is my pension. I am also helping Zhenia’sdaughter as much as I can. Zhenia’s wife lost hope in his recovery and left him some time ago. I am 58 years old, and I wonder sometimes where do I get strength to carry Zhenia around, since not long time ago I underwent 2 surgeries and doctors warned me not to lift more than 2-3kg. Up to now God has given me strength.

               There is still hope that I will be able to take my son to Germany for the surgery. I applied to many organizations for help, but all I got was refusal since the small children take priority. But for me he is my child and he wants to live a full life, take part of his daughter’s education, attend her graduation and see her getting married. To look in his eyes every day and read a question – what is next? and see the pain he endures after even a slight touch to his legs is unbearable.
            To date, thanks to our participation in a talk show, we were able to collect half of the required amount needed for the surgery. However, as time passed, we only receive small contributions, and I am afraid that the surgery may get canceled due to the amount of time elapsed since the pre-authorization.
