Arable lands for farming and gardening and economic trees such as shea, dawadawa, mango etc are are at the mercy of bush burning as a result of both adults and children hunting for grass cutters etc. Some also burn the bush to drive away reptiles. Also, some families who do not have refuse bins turn their refuse and abandoned the fire which is carried into the dry grass to burn etc. Lives and property are some times lost in these bush burning spree. Again, the land is depleted and left infertile for the next crop season. We all eat food. We drink water. We enjoy fruits and shades from trees. As end of year party for the youth and children in my community, I want to invite the fire service and national disaster management organisation, to come and educate us on the negative effects of bush burning. STOP BUSH BURNING!
