Campaign Story
My name is Lerato Lesoetsa, I am a 29 year old female from Lesotho.
Since 1895, Africa Inland Mission (AIM) has been sending missionaries from across the globe to the African Continent. AIM has started a new program for Africans called Harvest Team to give them exposure as missionaries to help them gain on-field experience as a full time missionary. I will be joining the Harvest Team with other missionaries and church leaders to learn about Farming God's Way and how agriculture can be incorporated into mission, discipleship and church planting. As part of the Harvest Team I will be serving the unreached Muslim people in Africa on the longer term. For the period September- November 2019, I will be in Nacala, the Northern Coastline of Naherengue, Nacala Port Mozambique. in this assignment, I will be able to achieve the following:
- To develop the skills of collaboration in a team of not more than 7 people
- To make sacrifices in a cross cultural setting that is not familiar
- To serve humbly among another community alongside an experienced missionary
- To Learn the art of being a missional entrepreneur: in faith, innovative and the creative use of little resources
- To Build resilience and compassion for people in a context of suffering
- To Proclaim Christ to the unreached.
I need to raise $1,500 which will go into:
- Transport costs from Lesotho (my home country) to Mozambique as well as transport to other mission locations such as Malawi.
- Living expenses while on mission
