The Happy Forest Kids afterschool care program is a support program for indigenous children in basic education that aims to lessen the school dropout rate in Datu Salumay, Marilog, Davao City.

"School children of low income communities fail to avail of the government’s basic education resources due to lack of basic learning materials and motivation. Even at a young age, kids of poor communities understand opportunity costs for livelihood. They stay away from school either to help parents earn or lack of motivational directions.

This program along with our government’s existing programs will hasten our vision of stronger Filipino communities. The presence of the program and its center provide constant exposure of the children to the program through their basic education cycle ensuring continuous long-term human capital investment".

HFK was founded by Mr. Roy Ponce. He started with the Happy Fish Kids in 2008 at Purok Mangingisda (Fishing Village), Taganilao, Tamisan, Mati, Davao Oriental. In 2012, he founded the Happy Farm Kids which is situated in a farming community in Mati City, Davao Oriental.
