Who are we?
Mission to Ukraine works with children with disabilities and their families in the Zhitomir Region of Ukraine to provide a full range of services and therapies free of charge.
What We Need
MTU needs a wheelchair accessible bus for transportation to and from our center and for social integration outings. Public transportation in Ukraine is not adaptive therefore we provide transportation from our clients homes to our center. We currently have a small van without a wheelchair lift. When we take the kids on outings, we must lease a bus and those children with the greatest physical challenges are too often excluded because of accessibility issues. Also, MTU staff and volunteers make weekly visits to the Romaniv Boys Orphanage where they offer a variety of learning opportunities to these forgotten youth. A bus will allow us to expand our opportunities for these children.
What You Get
What do you get aside from the joy of knowing you are helping to change a child's life? All our "thank you" gifts are beautifully handmade items from our children, lovingly crafted by their mothers or painted by our art therapy students.
How can you help?
Donate...but if you can't then get the word out and make some noise about our campaign on Facebook, Twitter, at lunch..wherever. Thanks so much for your heart to help Ukrainian kids!
Rewards
8 cards and envelopes with artwork on the front by MTU students with disabilities.
Hand-made doll in traditional Ukrainian clothes sewn by Ukrainian mothers of children with disabilities.
Your choice of a watercolor painted by a student with disailities or hand-crafted, beaded jewelry created by a mother of a child with disabilities.
