Handicap Need Help for New Startup

Dear Friends,

Before unraveling myself, I would like to say that it is quite a difficult task to begin a fundraising campaign for a person like me who himself had been obliged to help others throughout his life. But at times life gets so strange and unpredictable that one cannot recognize even one’s own self.

My name is Asim Rashid. Until July 2015 I had been leading a quite happy and normal life with my family. One odd day I had to visit the hospital for a minor health issue which resulted into a lifetime physical handicap. What happened to me during my treatment at the hospital? And how otherwise my healthy life culminated in spinal cord injury? That is a long story which I don’t want to share here because; narrating it, is like going through that pain again and again which gives me depression of weeks that I don’t want to go through.

I have received physical and mental rehabilitation continuously for four years after my physical handicap. During this course of time, I had high hopes that I will get back to a normal life again. But unfortunately miracles do not happen so often. So is my case. Those rehab sessions (which are still periodically continued by the way) along with my strong will power have enabled me to start any home-based work now. Because of my handicap, I have many physical issues which hinder my outdoor movement up to a great extent. That is why; I cannot travel without assistant (which in my case is my wife). Therefore, it is almost impossible for me to find any regular job which requires a daily commute.

The moment my doctors declared me a lifelong handicap, I felt like I was swamped by an avalanche of agony and endless thoughts; thoughts about those days when I was healthy, thoughts about my two small little children that how I would give them a happy life. Then I decided to make most of which I was left with. Therefore, instead of sitting idle while crying on my situation, I decided to move on. I started a kind of online sales and purchase on different e-commerce websites, which helped me to build a good rapport with my customers. Furthermore, this activity has lifted my heart and soul by reducing my depression pangs.

Dear friends! Now I have decided to expand my business in order to defeat my physical handicap which to some extent has made me mental handicap as well. I want to stand on my feet again maybe not physically but spiritually. However, in order to establish a basic set up for my business, I need money.
