Port-Au-Prince- Haiti was plunged into mourning and Carnival festivities were canceled Tuesday after at lest 26 people died including man, women and children when a high-voltage cable hit a parade float in the capital Port-Au-Prince.
Another 178 people were injured in the accident, which occurred shortly before 3:00am (0800GMT) as thousands watched, marring what is normally a joyful high point of the year in the improverished Caribbean country.
Authorties cancelled the third and last day of the carnival celebrations on Tuesday and declared three days of mourning. Lots of man, woman, and children lost their shoes and personal items during the high-voltage accident. If you would like to help the Louis House Foundation you can make a donation today!
