Haiti Medical Voyage 2014

Hello supporters! We are planning for our Haiti Medical Voyage 2014 in March. This will be our 5th annual trip where we spend 10 days working at Hope Hospital, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Hope Hospital is part of The United States for the Children of Haiti. Hope Hospital was a children's hospital, but after the earthquake, they chose to become a full service hospital and outpatient clinic to children and adults.

Last year we saw hundreds of patients in their clinic and also went to a rural area called Mussot, a 3 hour drive from Port-au-Prince, holding a health fair at Gladys' school, where we saw about 300 patients, mostly kids! This year we intend to spend more time there to accomodate more patients. 

This year we have 14 medical students, another attending Family Physician, Dr.Toms and a Nurse Practitioner, Lynda Stack, (who worked in Ethiopia for 2 years) committed to this year's trip. Hope Hospital has just begun providing care to adults, and we feel honored to help establish their continuity clinic.
