I have been accepted to participate in a medical mission to Haiti through a project ran in cooperation with The George Washington University and Project Medishare (http://www.projectmedishare.org), a Haitian-based Medical NGO that seeks to establish sustainable healthcare in Haiti. I will be part of a team consisting of Physicians, Medical Students, Nurses, and Nursing Students from The George Washington University. We will spend six days in the town of Thomonde, located in the Central Plateau, setting up mobile clinics each day in rural villages throughout the region and providing medical services.
This is a fantastic opportunity and I hope to be fortunate enough to take similar missions throughout my nursing career. Service to others has always been a part of my life and always will be. I hope you will support me in my first medical mission, as I am currently in nursing school and the expense of the trip is more than I am able to handle. I need to raise at least $800.00 to cover my final travel expenses and supply costs. Anything would help, and would be much appreciated.
Thank you and I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you when I return.
